Yoga Teacher Training Course // 2019

Yoga Kula is a dedicated yoga studio in Chapel Allerton Leeds, our team of teachers and staff have been supporting yoga students for the past six years as they begin, explore and deepen their yoga practice and in 2019 we will be beginning our second Yoga Teacher Training Course.
At our core is community, providing a tonic for modern life and creating a positive ripple effect – we are so excited to pass on all we have learned about yoga and teaching yoga professionally to our teacher trainees.
The next cycle of our 250hr TTC will begin on Friday 18th January 2019 and will run over 18 months giving time for material to be absorbed, practiced, reflected upon and embodied. At Yoga Kula we feel a longer course supports a deeper dive into your yoga practice and teaching so you are well prepared for life as a professional yoga teacher.

What to Expect

The Yoga Kula TTC has a Hatha foundation with opportunity to explore several different approaches to yoga ranging from dynamic through to balancing, technique and restful. We explore approaches such as Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasa Flow and Somatic Approach. There is time dedicated to supporting pregnant and post-natal students and those presenting with injuries. Part of the course will look into yoga marketing, branding, the qualities studios look for when taking on new teachers and the steps you may take want to take when starting out. Our assessments are a mixture of written, practical and creative which have been designed to support trainees to develop useful skills and inspiration for professional yoga teaching life.

Our TTC offers time, space, expert support and guidance for yoga teacher trainees to develop into professional and inspiring yoga teachers with an authentic and deeply personal offering. We offer a chance for trainees to fully connect with and deepen their personal yoga practice while learning how to teach yoga safely from presence, authenticity, with skill and creativity. Our TTC offers the opportunity for trainees to study a range of approaches to yoga from which they take inspiration and support to create engaging, rich and exciting yoga classes, workshops and events.
This course is not only an opportunity to learn how to teach yoga but an opportunity to discover your inner power, confidence, your yoga niche and connect with your potential as a yoga teacher. With the support of the Yoga Kula team, trainees are given the necessary tools to grow into inspirational, creative and professional yoga teachers.
Over the duration of the course, trainees are supported to develop an area of particular interest and move deeper, realise their uniqueness and strengths as a teacher and begin refining their yoga offering.

The time spent on the course is an amazing opportunity to create strong and lasting bonds with fellow trainees and the Yoga Kula team and move into the yoga teaching world with an existing supportive network.

This course is suitable for those who would like to deepen their existing yoga practice but do not necessarily wish to become teachers on graduation.
Trainees will be allocated a Yoga Teacher Mentor and be placed in a peer study group in order to practice and stay in touch with the material introduced over study weekends. Trainees will be registered with YAP at the start of the course.

Included in the course investment are two fully catered residential weekends.

Trainees will receive a 20% discount from the Yoga Kula Anytime 10 Class Pass, selected workshops and selected day retreats for the duration of the course.

This course will be led by Senior Yoga Teacher Angela Sykes who will be teaching 70% of the course with the support of the Yoga Kula Teaching team and specialist guest teachers.

Yoga Kula TTC is registered with Yoga Alliance Professionals.

Please briefly outline why you feel you would be suitable for the Yoga Kula TTC course and how long you have been practising yoga (max. 200 words)

“I had the pleasure of being taught anatomy by Fabiano as part of my yoga teacher training. His passion for the subject and his fascination with the structure and movement of our bodies is wholly infectious. He has an ability to connect with each and every person in the room The warmth he exudes makes his classes not only highly informative, but also highly enjoyable.”

“I’ve been practising yoga with Angela for over 5 years. I couldn’t believe my good fortune when Kula opened – yoga classes every day! Yoga Kula has made a huge impact on my life. I’ve really noticed the benefits from regular yoga practice on and off the mat. For years I’ve had dreams around becoming a yoga teacher, but didn’t dare tell anyone. When I felt brave enough to speak about these dreams I was met with much encouragement, nourishment and guidance from Angela, Clare and the Kula team. They encouraged me to follow my dreams. I’m very grateful for the continued support, opportunities and kindness and as an apprentice at Kula now I am training to be a teacher. Angela and her team are incredibly inspiring, humble and kind. I know YK trainees will be feel supported and nourished on their journey towards becoming yoga teachers.’”
