In aid of Father’s Day on Sunday 19th June, Yoga Kula is giving away one free place on their Yoga for Men Beginner’s Course, which starts on Saturday 18th June. If you haven’t managed to buy a perfect gift, or you don’t believe in buying presents, why not enter our simple Twitter competition to see if you can give the gift of yoga to someone you love. Alternatively if you are a man who is interested in yoga or you just want to get started on the mat why not enter yourself.

About the course:

If you are interested in learning more about Yoga and how it can help you become stronger, more agile and calmer this course is for you. During our Men’s Yoga 4 week Beginners Course you’ll be introduced to the building blocks of a yoga practice and will begin to see results in body and mind by the end of the course. You’ll learn key yoga postures to make you stronger, fitter and more agile. During the 4 weeks course you will be introduced to fundamentals of starting a yoga practice, such as the importance of breath and alignment. You’ll also be introduced to some meditation and relaxation techniques which can help deal with the stresses of daily life. This course is open to all Men no matter what your age, fitness or agility level – the poses will be modified when and where necessary to fit you.
Most traditional yoga styles were started by men, and practiced only by men. Yoga sequences are designed to strengthen and open muscles and joints. Yoga can benefit everyone.

Men are naturally more inflexible then women so they can feel at a disadvantage in class – however being less agile is supportive to learning the postures safely, the risk of pushing too far is reduced. Men are naturally stronger and will find this is a benefit in some of the postures where we need to be strong and hold them. Yoga is the balance between strength and flexibility and with a regular practice you will see that both are vastly improved.

We hope you enter and best of luck.
