Hatha Yoga is a chance to work with individual postures, to focus inside our bodies and into our breath, taking the time to explore each posture, encourage intuitive movement, find ease in the pose and allow the body to ground and release.

Hatha classes at Yoga Kula include time dedicated to pranayama (breathing) practices  which help to improve mental clarity and wellbeing, and through this direction you may arrive at a place of awareness and begin to experience yoga as a meditation.

In this Hatha and Restorative Yoga session we move at a slow and steady pace, easing ourselves into the body with a gentle warm up to mobilise and revitalise, before moving through a sequence of carefully selected asana (postures) designed to unfold and unwind the body from the inside out, blending a more active yoga posture practice alongside a more passive nourishing restorative practice with the use of props (blankets, blocks and bolsters) that provide a completely supportive environment in which to surrender to the poses without strain.

The blend of approaches provides time and space to develop our internal awareness, to both move and mobilise, relax and rest, nourishing and revitalising both body and mind, unwinding tension, and restoring our emotional, physical and mental equilibrium.

We always end with at least 15 minutes for deep relaxation, exploring with props supportive ways in which to fully surrender and deeply rest.

This class is perfect for those newer to yoga as well as those wanting to refine an existing practice. Suitable for pregnant students from 14 weeks.
