Friday 11th – Friday 18th May 2018

Join the Yoga Kula team for a week-long yoga retreat in the Fuerteventuran sun. This retreat is a time to relax, recharge and enjoy this stunning location. Fuerteventura is regarded as the most beautiful of the Canary Islands, surrounded by clear blue sea, with idyllic white sand beaches and year-round sunshine.

It’s one of our favourite locations, and Yoga Kula has visited Fuerteventura several times, so we know the island very well—all the local hidden gems, the most delicious tapas, the best beaches, shops and craft markets.

Book This Retreat

Enjoy two yoga sessions each day with a focus on the five elements. We work from Earth through to Water, Fire, Air and Space – this journey from the more apparent to the more subtle is brought to life with yogic storytelling, elemental yoga sequences and practices, elemental yoga nidra and time spent out in the elements exploring this volcanic island surrounded by clear blue waters.

Using the five elements as a framework to enquire within helps us to understand our true nature and our relationship with the world around us.

We’ll eat tasty food prepared at the villa, lunch like a local in our favourite tapas restaurants, see breath-taking scenery all around us, take group trips to scenic beaches, local towns, shops, markets and a neighbouring island nature reserve. There will of course be time to relax at the villa or explore the island individually or in smaller groups.

Our Fuerteventura Five Elements and Yoga Retreat is open to those who are new to yoga as well as those with a more established practice. Everyone will feel fully supported and challenged in their practice – with only 10 spaces available this allows for plenty of personal attention and practice development.

Join us either on your own as a personal getaway, with a friend or your partner.

You will return home feeling more accomplished in your yoga practice, relaxed, strong, healthy, inspired and wanting to come back this part of the island again and again!

10 spaces are available for this retreat.

Where you’ll be staying

The luxury villa—Kinegua is situated in the north of the island, near to Lajares town where there are fewer tourists. The contemporary-styled villa has its own outdoor yoga space where yoga sessions are held twice a day, a private pool and island style gardens surrounding the villa.

The villa is beautiful, modern and iconic on the island due to it’s location in front of the two most famous volcanos. Take a look where you’ll be staying here.

There are lots of local places to buy well crafted clothes, jewellery and interesting pieces in a laid back atmosphere. It’s a relaxed walk from the villa to the local shops, art galleries, surf shops and cafes. Hang out with the surfers, and visit the local bakery which sells amazing fresh coffee and baked goods.

Your teachers:

The yoga sessions and retreat will be guided by Angela Sykes, founder of Yoga Kula and a Senior Yoga Teacher and Yoga Kula favourite Catharine Rosenthall who speaks Spanish and is an expert on Spanish food.
