Moon Sequence.

Friday 23rd March

7pm—9pm

£20

The Moon Sequence honours the feminine moon qualities of being receptive and intuitive. We will yield to gravity staying low to the ground opening to a beautiful calming, mindful hip and shoulder focused sequence. This sequence is based around Chandra Namaskar (salute to the moon) as opposed to Surya Namaskar (salute to the sun).

Flowing with quiet, continuous and deep breathing allows time to increase awareness of our changing mind and body conditions in relation to the seasons and the waxing and waning moon cycles.

A cooling practice which calms the nervous system as we peel away layers of tension, allowing the body and mind a chance to move towards its own balance to regulate, maintain and nourish itself.

This session will: bring you a sense of calm.
This session is for: anyone who would like a flowing, breath based hip and shoulder focussed practice.

What my classes are like
My classes aim to help students find mental and physical balance and stability with a focus on alignment and breathing. I also like to incorporate deeply meditative and grounding practices to calm and nourish the body.

My journey into yoga
I discovered and fell in love with yoga as a teenager; my first teacher was an inspirational Iyengar Yoga teacher who helped me form a dedicated practice. Since then I’ve maintained a regular practice to keep the balance and energy in my life whilst being a parent, a teacher and to cope with the everyday stresses and strains of modern life that we all have.

My study and credentials
I became 200-hour qualified yoga teacher back in 2008 with Brian Cooper at Yoga Alliance and later became a Chartered Level 2 qualified teacher. I’ve also learnt Ashtanga with Tim Feldman and Yin Yoga with Liz Stephenson-Payne which has broadened my perspective on the possibilities and philosophy of yoga.
I have been very lucky to study with the founder of the Yin Meridian approach to yoga; Sarah Powers and take part in a 5 day Yoga Alliance certified Yin immersion with Norman Blair. I will continue developing my anatomical knowledge with Julie Gudmersall and embark on a yoga intensive with the International teacher Donna Farhi. I also plan to expand my interest in Nada (sound meditation) with an introduction to sound therapy with Kath Reade.
