What my classes are like

Always inspired by my own time on the mat, my classes are designed to support people wherever they are on their yoga journey. I enjoy offering modifications to support individual needs and encouraging people to take it at their own pace. I always try to create a focused yet fun environment; we work hard, giggle and relax!

My journey into yoga

I first came across yoga in 2000 when I moved to Leeds from Wigan but it wasn’t until 2007 when a car accident left me with neck and shoulder issues that my interest turned into a passion. Practicing a range of hatha, Ashtanga and Rocket yoga not only helped with my injury by building up my strength but it made me feel fantastic. I began to realise the benefits regular practice has on the mind, body and spirit. Yoga, particularly the wonderful Ashtanga system, has been a constant in my life since then.

My study and credentials

I completed my 200-hour It’s Yoga teacher training qualification in August 2011 and have been teaching regular weekly classes ever since. I attend workshops with many respected teachers such as David Swenson and Matthew Sweeney. I have a regular Ashtanga yoga practice under the guidance of KPJAYI Level 2 authorised teacher Joey Miles and also enjoy studying with Marie Hallager Andersen at Kula’s early morning Mysore practice.
